In Grade 6 the students work on two projects both based on the idea Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The first is a reusable shopping bag. The second is a free choice project that must incorporate at least 50% recycled jeans and 50% scrap fabric.
Miljökasse
This term we will design and make a reusable shopping bag.
We will discuss and answer the following questions:
1. Why is there so much plastic in the ocean?
2. How can we reduce the amount of plastic we use?
3. What problems are caused by plastic pollution?

Assessment.
* Your work during lessons is assessed continuously.
* SEESAW (planning, design, sketches, pattern, drawings etc that you have worked with and that
you have photographed).
* Your finished bag.
* Your analysis of your work: you must document your process with SEESAW, for example take pictures during the work process and be able to analyze orally or in writing based on help questions.
Jeans
This term we will design and make an item of your choice using recycled materials.

You must use 50% fabric from old jeans

The rest of your fabric must come from the scrap fabric boxes.

We will also discuss consumerism and how cheap clothing effects effects the environment.
